Here are the ratings for Grey’s Anatomy — the TV series where the doctors treat a lot of serious cases, but still have plenty of time for personal drama. The eighth season of Grey’s Anatomy typically airs Thursday nights at 9pm on the ABC network.

These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2011-12 season, the best way to tell if Grey’s Anatomy will be cancelled or renewed for a ninth season. These figures will be updated as the weeks progress so be sure to bookmark and return to this page:

Episode 08-03: Thursday, 9/29/11
Week two fell by 12% in the demo to a 3.6 rating and 10.2 million viewers. The show is still doing well though, all things considered. It’s the network’s second-highest rated scripted series on the network.
Season average: 3.9 demo with 10.32 million.

Episodes 08-01 08-02: Thursday, 9/22/11:
It was a disappointing start to the season with a 4.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.38 million viewers. The two-hour debut was in first place for the timeslots but was down by 24% when compared to last season’s premiere. This re-emphasizes ABC’s need for new hit dramas — and it doesn’t look like they have any this fall season.

Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 4.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 11.23 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

How are your favorite FOX TV shows doing this season? Which ones are hits and which ones are in danger of being cancelled? You might be surprised. By looking at the chart below, you’ll be to see their current season ranking, ratings averages to date, and their grade in the all-important 18-49 demographic.

There’s lots of information that the networks take into consideration when deciding whether to cancel or renew a TV series but the ratings are the main ingredient. (Wonder if your favorite’s already been renewed or cancelled? Visit our FOX 2011-12 show page.

These charts incorporate final ratings data through Thursday, February 2, 2012.

Other ratings report cards: ABC | CBS | The CW | NBC

A couple of notes about these charts:
The averages included in these charts are based on the final numbers, not the fast affiliate ratings that are typically reported the morning after. The final numbers become available about a day after the broadcasts or, in the case of Fridays, weekends, and holidays, several days later. The charts are updated as the new data is made available.

Keep in mind that the demo numbers are what’s most important to advertisers and therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Agree with it or not, advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating versus one with a lot more overall viewers.

Demo numbers are reported by Nielsen using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). We used to round the averages to the tenth place as well but that ultimately ends up making it harder for our readers to track any upward or downward movement week-to-week. It can also be a little misleading since a show with a 2.35 average and a show with a 2.44 average will both round to a 2.4 rating.

So in this chart, we’re including the demo average rounded to the 10th (2.4) as well as the 100th place (2.41) in parenthesis so you can get a better idea of how the number’s been affected by the latest episode’s demo rating.

The letter grades are relative and are based on the individual network’s demo performance. All of the networks have very different gauges for success right now. (A successful show for The CW would get quickly cancelled on CBS.) Our system for coming up with letter grades isn’t perfect but it should still give you an idea of where the different shows stand. The closer a show is to the bottom of the list, the more chance it has of getting cancelled.

*The grades for TV series that run on Friday and Saturday nights are weighted a little differently, to compensate for airing on little-watched nights.

We’ve made our picks for the best and worst ads of Super Bowl XLVI. Now we want to hear from you.

The consensus of the Zap2it staff was that Volkswagen once again had one of the best ads of Super Bowl Sunday. We also liked the Chevrolet apocalypse commercial quite a bit, along with the Skechers spot with the running shoe-clad pooch.

On the downside, we are way, way over the GoDaddy commercials. And we mostly just snickered at the labeling of Bud Light as “platinum.” We’re also disappointed whenever companies air commercials that have been in rotation for a long time during the Super Bowl — so ATT, you’re on the bad list too.

‘The Voice’: Meet Tony Lucca, Christina Aguilera’s old ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ pal

“The Voice” is never shy about the fact that they invite talent to come audition as opposed to holding “American Idol” style open auditions. As a result, a lot of the contestants on the show have enjoyed a modicum of prior success and are using “The Voice” to move toward the mainstream, household-name level.

Tony Lucca, who was on “The Mickey Mouse Club” beginning when he was 14, is one of those contestants. A longtime boyfriend of “Felicity” star Keri Russell, Lucca is now married and has a son. He starred on the short-lived “Malibu Shores” alongside Russell and toured with *NSYNC (and former “MMC” buds Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez) for a brief period. Recently, his music was prominently featured on “Friday Night Lights” — very prominently. “Devil Town” was him.

So did Christina Aguilera recognize her old co-star’s voice when he began to sing “Trouble” on the show? Nope. All four judges turned around (Cee-Lo required some encouragement from Adam Levine) and even when Lucca introduced himself, there wasn’t the faintest spark of recognition on Aguilera’s face.

Awkward doesn’t begin to describe it. There weren’t that many people on “MMC,” you guys! It’s like not recognizing someone you went to high school with… if you only went to high school with 12 people.

It wasn’t until he chose Levine as his coach, walked off stage, and nodded to Aguilera, that she suddenly had an epiphany. Turning bright red, her jaw dropping, she climbed down off her seat and — clearly mortified — headed backstage, seeking him out.

“Oh my god! I didn’t even recognize. How are you! And no hard feelings,” she told him when she found him. “Britney had the biggest crush on you. She’d talk about you all the time.”

Most hilarious reunion ever!

Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton aren’t only battling on set to find “The Voice,” they’re also going head-to-head in some souped-up fight-sequences in their Super Bowl promo for the singing competition tonight as well.

Hitting a backflip in studded stilettos, Aguilera tries to make a run for it when she hears a soulful singing voice while sipping coffee in the lobby of a posh hotel.

But before she can snag the woman for her team, Shelton whips her back with a lasso, and proceeds to get into a fistfight with Levine.

And though Levine prevails against Shelton, he can’t get past Cee Lo, who karate chops him before he can make it to the top of the stairs.

When all four gather themselves and make it to the singing woman’s hotel room, she emerges clad in a bathrobe.

So, who is the bathing beauty?

Spoiler Alert! None other than Betty White, who appreciates that someone “finally” wants her for her “voice and not her body.”

Hilarious!

Katy Perry Gives a Shout-Out to Tim Tebow at Pre-Super Bowl Concert

It looks like Katy Perry caught wind of those Tim Tebow rumors.

The “Firework” singer, who has been linked to the Denver Broncos quarterback, made sure to give a little mention to the ultra-religious baller during her pre-Super Bowl performance Saturday night in Indianapolis, Ind.

During the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night party, which marked her first U.S. concert post-Russell Brand split, Perry “dedicated ‘Peacock’ to [Tebow],” a partygoer told E! News, and made no mention of her ex-hubby.

The song, which contains the lyrics “I wanna see your peacock” among other not-so-subtle references, probably wasn’t the best choice in song dedications for Tebow, whose parents are ministers.

But, that wasn’t the end of Perry’s Tebow shout-outs.

During the NFL Honors ceremony Saturday, Perry presented the first award of the night to Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and singled out Tebow, who was sitting in the front row of the audience, while she was at it, saying, “Hey Tim, my parents say hi.”

Just in case you missed it, it’s been reported that Perry’s parents, who are also ministers, have had their eyes on the NFL star as a possible match for their daughter.

Coincidentally, Perry just so happens to have a suite right next to Tebow’s for today’s Super Bowl game, a source told E! News exclusively.

How convenient…
